PM-WANI and Gavedu

Gavedu is building an ad-sponsored internet access model on top of India's PM-WANI public WiFi framework. Most of it is still in development.

Under PM-WANI, anyone can become a Public Data Office (PDO) and offer public WiFi. Gavedu is building an ad-sponsored, tokenized layer on top: a user who watches an ad is credited GVDT, which can be applied to internet access. The PDO side of that model is not operating yet — see the PDO page for what does and does not exist today.

How Gavedu integrates with PM-WANI

Ad-sponsored access — a user who watches an ad is credited GVDT toward internet access, with no upfront cost.
GVDT on Base — GVDT is the network's utility token on Base. Ad-view credits are recorded in the Gavedu ledger.
PDO side not operating — there is no operator payout programme today, so no monetization is offered to PDOs.
Verifiable infrastructure — deployed nodes are attested on-chain via the node registry.

Why we are building it

The aim is a connectivity model that works for all three sides — low-cost internet for users, a workable proposition for operators, and verifiable reach for advertisers. Only the user-side ad credit exists today; the operator and advertiser sides are unbuilt.
